Ten Political Activists Released on Bail
They were released immediately after arrest, Head of the Revolutionary Court Hojjatoleslam Ali Mobasheri said on Tuesday.
He said that the group affiliated to what he called "the religious-nationalist" coalition had held a meeting at Bastenegar's residence and those taking part in the meeting were arrested on charges of conspiracy.
He said that police seized several documents in the course of arresting the group members at Bastenegar's home.
He said that ten activists including Ahmad Zeid-Abadi, Ali Mohammadi, Mohammad Mohammadi, Hashemi-Rad, Marzieh Mortazi-Langaroud, Mrs. Govaraei, and some others were released on bail.
Also, some 40 Iranian MPs, in a letter to Information Minister Ali Younessi, have questioned him over the latest mass arrests on Sunday night of people accused of plotting against the Islamic Republic.
An MP from Tehran and one of the signatories of the letter, Davoud Soleimani has said the MPs had asked three questions from the information minister over the arrest.
"The first question is: What was the role of the Information Ministry in detection and follow-up of the issue. The other question is that if the Information Ministry was not involved, what groups or individuals and under which information have made the arrests?", Soleimani said.
"The third question is whether the activities or operations of those arrested amounted to plotting against the system or endangering national security?" he added.
The information minister, Soleimani said, has to attend the Majlis and answer these questions.
Meanwhile, the wrath of over 150 Iranian lawmakers was drawn Tuesday after they were not allowed to read out their letter in the Majlis which was in protest to the arrest of over 20 Islamic activists, nine of them reportedly freed later.
The Presiding Board of the reformist-majority Iranian Majlis did not allow the letter to be read out openly lest it might spark tension.
